Cheryl Bryant, RN
Working with Healthy Connections now for over a decade, Cheryl has more than 17 years of experience with high-risk homecare. Her other homecare experience involved case management, home infusion therapy, pain management, as well as wound care. Originally a hospital nurse practicing in areas such as post-partum, high-risk antepartum and Labor & Delivery, Cheryl has been an RN for more than 24 years. She enjoys the challenges that homecare brings for nurses, and delights in positive outcomes for the mothers and their babies.

Katy Gerritt, RN, CCM
Katy has worked with Healthy Connections in our Florida Call Center for the last 10 years. Katy’s previous nursing experience has included not only care for patients with high risk pregnancies in the hospital setting, but has many years of experience with home-bound obstetrical patients. Rounding out her wealth of nursing experience is her previous ICU care and home IV therapy. Katy functioned as a case manager for a large public company doing evaluations for worker’s compensation. It was during this time that she earned her CCM (certified case manager certificate). The mother of two children and grandmother to one, Katy believes the best part of her job is the positive impact she can make in pregnant women’s lives.

Melodie Green, RN, MSN
Melodie is the latest addition to our Call Center office. With a Masters of Science in Nursing (Acute Clinical Nurse Specialist), Melodie splits her time between Healthy Connections and her work covering four Orlando, FL hospitals as a Perinatal Clinical Nurse specialist. She is also certified in Neonatalogy. Melodie has practiced the art and science of nursing for 30 years, with all of her time spent in obstetrical areas: Labor & Delivery, newborn nursery, and NICU. She says that the best part of working for Healthy Connections is being able to share the experiences she has had in the obstetrical field to help women who are experiencing high-risk pregnancies.
Cathy Olliff, RN
Cathy has been a nurse for more than two decades. She has spent most of her nursing years working in the hospital setting, either in Labor & Delivery, Antepartum units, or the nursery. Cathy came to Healthy Connections a few years ago, and while she misses the hospital setting, she is very happy about the continuity of care and connections that she can make with the patients on service with the company. As the mother of three sons and two grandsons, Cathy realizes that pregnancy, especially those with complications, can be an anxious time for the mother and her family. She really enjoys that, as a nurse, she has the ability to educate and provide reassurance and care to high-risk obstetrical patients on service with Healthy Connections.
Brenda Ventura, RN
Brenda has been in the nursing profession for nearly 20 years. With Healthy Connections for the past three years, Brenda works predominantly during the evening hours. Prior to joining us, she had significant nursing experience working on Labor & Delivery units as well as staffing Antepartum and Post-Partum units; other nursing experiences include many years working both Medical/Surgical units as well as a Pediatric unit. Brenda is the mother of five children, so she has plenty of personal experience with pregnancy! She says that she feels rewarded, both personally and professionally, from the counseling, education and support she can provide to women who are experiencing difficulty in their pregnancies.
GayLynn founded what has now become Healthy Connections Homecare Services in 2000. Beginning with a company called Obstetrical Home Services, she offered home care to the obstetricians she worked with in the Texas Medical Center. As the company grew, she partnered with John P. Gee, a local infusion pharmacist and owner of ivA Homecare. In 2003, what is now known as Healthy Connections Homecare Services was formed. In 2004, GayLynn met Dr. Timothy Waterhouse on a medical mission trip to Guatemala. Dr. Waterhouse was asked to come on board as the Chief Medical Officer.
GayLynn worked as a high risk Obstetric nurse at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital in The Texas Medical Center from 1991 through 2001. During her employment there, she made lifelong friendships with the staff, many of these friends assisted in building the company. GayLynn attributes her extensive education at St. Luke’s to being the foundation of the company.
GayLynn earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Woman’s University at The Texas Medical Center in 1991.
In addition to serving as the Chief Operating Officer at Healthy Connections, GayLynn is a member of The Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses, The Infusion Nurses Society and SVYAM, an international organization based in India which serves the needs of disabled citizens in India and the surrounding countries. GayLynn also serves as a member of the Board of Governors for The Pituitary Network Association.
GayLynn resides in Houston with her husband Joel Kneitz, MD, two children, Ericah and Scott, and two grandchildren, Bella and Kayde.
Tim Waterhouse is a board-certified obstetrician/gynecologist who is currently the Chief Medical Officer for Healthy Connections. Dr. Waterhouse graduated from Georgetown University School of Medicine and completed his OB/GYN residency at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC. A native of upstate NY, Dr. Waterhouse was in private practice at The Woman’s Hospital of Texas for 10 years prior to joining Healthy Connections in 2007. He served as part-time Medical Director for two years prior. When the opportunity to join the directors at Healthy Connections presented itself, Dr. Waterhouse felt strongly that he could make a difference for the company. Although he enjoyed his time in practice, Tim is a strong believer in the value of homecare for pregnant patients, especially in light of the cost-savings for the healthcare system and for patients.
Dr. Waterhouse also strives to maintain his connection with the clinical side of medicine by serving on an Institutional Review Board for one Houston hospital, as well as serving as an editorial reviewer for the Green Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology. In addition, he is on the medical advisory board of a Houston-based biomedical device venture capital group currently working on obstetrically-related projects, and holds memberships in several professional organizations. During his time with Healthy Connections, Tim has pursued a Masters in Business Administration degree which he hopes to complete in April 2009.
